We planned how Erika was going to look before filmin, so that we could all agree. She was going to wear white to show her innoscence, and hint that she is also a spirit. The dress she bought was perfect, as it looked like a little girls night dress, which is synonymous with children in thillers.
To show that she is dead, we had to douse her dress in blood. but keeping it all in one place to not ruin the effect of the dress.
We planned for Erika to wear dolly shoes in the forest but at the last minute, she decided it would look better if she were bare foot. So we made her tread in mud so that she looked dirty and as if she had been in the forest for a while.
